The Officer Bernard F. Parson Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in Bernard’s name by his family shortly after his death to memorialize Bernard in an honorable and respectful manner.
We want to ensure Bernard’s name lives on and everyone remembers the supreme service he gave to the University of Texas at Dallas. The Scholarship will be awarded once a year in the amount of $500.
Bernard served with The University of Texas at Dallas Police Department from February 1, 2001, to May 25, 2003. Bernard’s love for his family was one of his finest attributes that he will always be remembered for. Bernard’s service and dedication to his community in Cedar Hill and at the University of Texas at Dallas was never-ending. Bernard was known at the University for his contagious smile and his rapport with those he served and served with. We believe, as Bernard believed, that young people further themselves and society through education.
